We were delighted with the results of our family portrait session. We're a big family with lots of small children, but Jo found the perfect venue for our shoot, organised us on the day so that no-one would have realised what an unruly mob we are, and sent us pictures very quickly. A few shots from an Intro into Cinematic Lighting for Photography Workshop. Held at the studio for a fellow portrait photographer.

We went into quality of light, single lights, colours of light for mood and emotion, 3 point light set up, working with practicals and motivated lighting, ambient lighting levels, accent lights, volumetric lighting, set design and gobos all culminating in one image with everything we had learned put into it. Our model for the day was Kelsie. As I was teaching I shot very little but here are a couple of my shots and a story inspired by the gang style shirt from Kelsie’s wardrobe

Loved every minute of hanging with these guys..warm, kind & generous …sharing kit and golden nuggets of advice
Came away inspired. I am now familiar with my GFX after Craig put me right on the wrong settings I was using. Since then I have barely put it down. Byebye Nikon time for a camera nap. Also been inspired to create a daylight studio as shooting in the Dockland studio reminded me how gorgeous natural light is to work with.I now offer a mix of day, electric and combinations thereof to my clients. Also now brave enough to shoot seasons with my manual focus Nikon Noct with fringer to gfx adapter. Holly smokes the look is insanely beautiful xxx Thanks Craig!!

In Jan Feb of this year I invested in new studio lights. Colourful LED. Went with an Amaran Collection of panels and heads to start exploring the possibilities of working with constant lights. Been doing lots of test shoots as it’s not possible to test on regular clients😜
